Our Story

What started out as a sunday afternoon project in 2023, quickly turned into a business!

 

It all started with a pair of Vans that I had painted for myself. They had sparked quite a bit of interest and people started wanting to place orders! In October of 2024, I added customized wooden products! I have now added smaller boutique items to our products line while still offering customized products!

A little bit about me!

My name is Leslie but most people call me Les or Smiley! I am the creator of “Smiley’s Co. ”. I work at Cowherd Equipment + Rental Inc., an independent grant developer, and the author of "May We Be Them"!

I chose my name, “Smiley’s Co.”, because Smiley is one of my favorite names! A man who reminds me a lot of my grandpa, Wendell Burton, was the first person to call me that! Most of the people I see often, now call me Smiley!

I am 22 years old and engaged to my best friend, Matthew! I am currently Miss Kentucky! I love concerts, pageants, reading, and street tacos!

A couple fun facts: I’ve seen every episode of The Golden Girls - multiple times, my favorite singer is Willie Nelson, and I’ve played the piano since I was 7 years old. My biggest pet peeve is the sound of people chewing and I am terrified of ants!
